We know mornings can be hectic between getting dressed, packing bags, and making it out the door on time, daycare drop-off can sometimes feel like a whirlwind. At Tiny Townhouse Daycare, we want to help make your mornings less stressful and your child’s transition into the day smoother and more positive. Here are some simple tips to help build a calm and consistent morning routine:

1. Prepare the Night Before
Lay out clothes, pack lunches, and gather any items your child needs for the next day before bedtime. This makes mornings more relaxed and gives you a few extra moments to connect with your child.
2. Create a Morning Checklist
A visual checklist with pictures (brushing teeth, getting dressed, eating breakfast, etc.) can help toddlers feel more independent and confident. It also keeps everyone on track.
3. Wake Up a Little Earlier
Giving yourself an extra 10–15 minutes in the morning can make a big difference. It allows time for snuggles, slow wakeups, or handling any last-minute surprises without rushing.
4. Stay Positive During Drop-Off
Say goodbye with confidence and reassurance. Children often mirror your emotions, so if you’re calm and upbeat, it helps them feel secure too. A consistent goodbye routine like a special hug, handshake, or phrase
can ease the transition.
5. Communicate With Us
If your child had a rough morning or a tough night, let us know! Our team can provide extra comfort and understanding throughout the day.
6. Celebrate the Wins
If your child has a smooth drop-off or follows the routine well, celebrate it! A simple “You did a great job this morning!” can go a long way in building positive habits.
